How the Scores Are Calculated

Admission Score Methodology

The admission profile score is calculated from four main components, each weighted by its typical importance in university admissions processes:

GPA (30 pts) — Academic performance on a 4.0 scale
Test Scores (25 pts) — Best of SAT or ACT
Extracurricular (20 pts) — Activities and achievements
Essay Quality (15 pts) — Strength of personal statement
Bonuses (10 pts) — AP courses, volunteering, legacy, first-gen

Accommodation Cost Methodology

Rent estimates are derived from average student housing market prices. Each accommodation type applies a multiplier to the base city rent:

Room Type Multiplier
University Dormitory ×0.30
Shared Flat (own room) ×0.50
Studio Apartment ×0.85
1-Bedroom Apartment ×1.00
2-Bedroom (shared) ×1.45
